Ten coastal towns in South America worth a second look
From Máncora in northern Peru to Punta del Diablo on the Uruguayan coast, the continent is full of small towns where a sea-view house still costs less than a city apartment.
Look at year-round access first. A town that is beautiful in January but cut off in the rainy season is a very different proposition for a permanent move than for a holiday home.
Check water, electricity and internet before falling in love with a view. Many coastal plots are sold without connections, and bringing utilities to the boundary can cost more than the land itself.
